Another year, another alumni victory at the Baylor Rugby Alumni Festival. The old boys won 37-17, shutting out the current squad for most of the match before tired legs and poor tackling led to three late tries, one converted.
Luckily, the alumni did not have to count on their boots, as they converted only one of their seven tries on the day, the lone conversion slotted by long-lost Joel Kuehl.
We had a great turnout of alumni, fans and parents, and the 08-09 season is looking promising with a great set of newcomers to the current team.
We raised over $3500 this year, and we’re still accepting donations using the Chip-In tool on the right or by visiting our donations page.
Special thanks to the Oliphants, Reliapole, Mr. Ferguson, Dr. Lewin, Mr. Sherman, Coach Nick Lane and all the other supporters of this festival and Baylor Rugby. We couldn’t do it without you.
The Association was also proud to present the club with a check for early season expenses. Keep an eye out for a refreshed website and more opportunities to support Baylor Rugby in your area.
Also, please note the schedule for 2008-2009 has been released here.
